Seven years ago, Asad purchased a five-hectare kiwifruit orchard from a local farmer. It was not an easy decision. He had to learn advanced horticultural practices, understand global supply chains, and manage large-scale farming operations in a new country. But his resilience and determination carried him through.

Building Asad Horticulture

What started as one orchard soon expanded into three thriving units—Asad 1, Asad 2, and Asad 3. Together, they form the backbone of Asad Horticulture, a company that exports premium kiwifruits across Europe, North America, and Asia.

His orchards now employ 50 skilled workers, many of whom have grown alongside the business. Asad invests heavily in training, safety, and skill development, making his workforce an integral part of the company’s success.

Harvesting Success

Every year from May to June, Asad Horticulture’s orchards come alive with harvest season. Fruits are carefully handpicked, graded, and sorted:

  • Grade A & B: Exported to premium international markets.

  • Grade C: Sold locally at affordable prices, ensuring New Zealand families also benefit.

This dual approach strengthens both global trade and local community ties.
